Are Stunt Scooters As Cool As They Used To Be?

Urban Wheelz Article

When I was in primary school, scooters were the cool way to travel. Every hip kid on the estate had one and it made the way to and from class much less of a hassle. Now, just like BMX bikes, stunt scooters have come into vogue and are used for tricks. The question is, are stunt scooters cool?

Are Stunt Scooters Cool?

What separates stunt scooters from your run of the mill neighbourhood toy is that regular scooters are only designed to get you from point A to point B; not very exciting.

Normal scooters come with different sized wheels and an adjustable handlebar, making for a smooth ride. Stunt scooters are designed specifically for tricks, so you can’t move the handle bar and the wheels are often smaller to generate faster speeds in order to get more air. A stunt scooter is also designed to be durable, because it is likely that a beginner will fall over and over again before he or she gets it right.

If you are already a skate park junkie and enjoy your rollerblading or BMX biking, stunt scooters are definitely cool, they are relatively safe, lightweight and easy to use. You (or your child) will definitely look like the cool riding in one of those flipping tricks in front of friends.

Check out this video – looks pretty cool to me!

One of the drawbacks of stunt scooters versus conventional scooters is the price. For a standard scooter you could be looking at sixty to seventy pounds, where your average stunt scooter costs over 100. However, if you really want one, it could make a nice Christmas or birthday present that can be used for fun and exercise. And the Urban Wheelz team have even reviewed lower priced stunt scooters that everyone can afford.

The place to find the best deal would probably be to look on a website like ours – We’ll try to keep you informed about where you can get discounted accessories and read the best reviews on the stunt scooter you’re interested in. A helpful tip is to look into what parts usually wear out quickly or break so that you can also purchase some back ups.

Good exercise and fun on par with BMX biking? I would say that definitely puts stunt scooters at the top of the cool list.
