Colorado Springs used to be filled with cowboys riding horses. And today we ride a prize horse from Atom Longboards, the Atom Drop Through. Time for a review. Yeehaa!

Brand
More than a decade ago, like all skate companies, a couple of riders and friends decided they could do a lot better than what was on the market at that moment. Atom was created in the United States with the aim of making boards with an affordable price and durable quality. And this is their guarantee.
Their aim is beginner and intermediate longboard users but now they even expanded to electric skateboards. It sure is a company that brings the sun in our homes due to being based in the epic Californian city Colorado Springs.
Design
Who can’t say they don’t love the smell of a brand new fresh skateboard. That wooden smell, that feel, that touch. Take into account the superb looking designs that are available from Atom and based on looks alone this longboard is a winner.
But not all is in the looks, we need to know how this beauty rides along the street, coastline and all other places where you are and aren’t allowed to skate. Straight from the box we noticed that the trucks were loose so we had to take the toolbox out and tighten those babies. Doing this we also noticed that the bearings could use some good lubrication. Doing all this handy work on our Atom longboard it was finally time to take it for a spin.
Thanks to our little adjustments we immediately noticed that with this longboard just a few kicks suffice to make you go far. It is not that we are lazy but knowing you can get to your next destination with just a few kicks is a great plus. After some time and some riding we noticed that the quality of the wheels is not of the best. So we advise you take a look around for some replacements. That said, the quality of the grip tape on this longboard is outstanding.
All in all the Atom Long Drop Through longboard is a perfect board for cruising, freestyle and downhill. It feels very light and suits any beginner or intermediate longboard rider. Although you can do a minimum of tricks with this, it is not build to be a trick master. We love how this longboard looks, smells and rides. With just some minor adjustments this board can provide a very smooth, comfortable and quiet ride. And it will provide the necessary looks of envy at the skatepark.
