You could say ‘Think Skateboard, Think Globe’ – not that we’re here to come up with new slogans for them! But Globe skates and delivers. We’ve given their longboard a good thorough spin around the block and here’s our review of their Prowler board.

Brand
The Prowler is made out of epoxy resin so in theory the board should be lighter, stronger, and longer lasting than any normal based decks.
What Globe promises is delivered: the Prowler is really light and thanks to its lightness it makes the board fast and even faster when going downhill. Thanks to the kingpin trucks there is major stability at high speeds.
While taking this longboard for a spin we noticed that the roll is very long and we love that.
Besides the speed, the Prowler is the perfect board for cruising and carving. It offers a low centre of gravity which provides better safety. It even gives no wheel bite thanks to the large cut-outs.
The turn radius on this board is tight and smooth. All these quality materials provide a great high speed, smooth ride. That’s without forgetting to mention the great choices of design on these boards.
Does this board have any negatives?
Yes, unfortunately it does. It has no kicknose nor kicktail which removes the ability to do any tricks. But that happens with all longboards. More annoying is that it is extremely difficult to do slides with the Prowler.
However to us the major downside on this board is the lack of quality in the grip. Because of the lower quality we had to regrip ours after some time of heavy use. And when you spend a bunch of money you don’t want needless damage and most importantly you want grip for your safety when cruising.
The Globe Prowler is a perfect longboard for anybody who loves to go fast. It is designed for high speeders and/or those who love to carve. This is the king of the longboards when it regards carving. So your major reason to buy this longboard should be its great ability towards cruising and carving. It has one minor flaw though, its grip but that can be avoided by regripping it.
