Brand

The seeds for Vokul were sown nearly a decade ago in China when local parents asked the founder of the company to help produce a kick scooter for the children. Now the Vokul family has grown into a sports products company that brings us stunt scooters at very affordable prices.

Design

Urban Wheelz Vokul ScooterVokul describes this scooter as a suitable park scooter to fulfil all your needs. This aircraft aluminium build machine is indeed lightweight and sturdy. That’s a fact. But there is a major downside: the handlebars, headset and triple clamp cannot withstand heavy use. The black paint gets scratched very easily and that makes your scooter look uncool. And that is a shame because the TRII S2 comes in a very neat paint scheme.

Let’s turn our attention to the deck. It is also made out of the same aluminium as the handlebars, this time reinforced with forged plates. The bottom of the deck is smooth and solid which makes it perfect for all your grinding needs. But after some use in the skatepark the added grip tape got really dirty, so again this scooter had to lose points on the eye-candy factor. Luckily you can easily clean the grip tape with some wire brush but it can be a hassle to do each time you return from the skatepark.

The wheels on the TRII S2 are okay. Although they are not the top of the bill, they just do what they are supposed to do: get the scooter forward. Unfortunately, we found out that the back wheel can wiggle a lot. Take in account that the headset is a little loose and you can guess it alright: this scooter makes a lot of noise.

We must admit, we have mixed feelings about Vokul products but we can say that overall the TRII S2 is actually a good scooter. Hey, at this price, you can’t complain. It is actually a good scooter to start with in this sport, to learn the tricks of the trade. But in the end, we still recommend looking into the higher end scooters that are on the market.

The Vokul  TRII S2 does make a perfect birthday gift.
